Having a great time at the lake but need a break from the water? Check out The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad located in the village of Meredith, NH. You can purchase tickets online or at the satellite ticket booth located on the historic Boardwalk at Weirs Beach, NH.
This rail system was once home to the famous Boston, Concord and Montreal line that dates all the way back to 1848.
The train rides are available daily in one hour or two hour excursions, and they operate in rain or shine. All trips on the train are round trips.
As you ride the train, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Winnipesaukee on one side of the train while enjoying views of beautiful lake homes on the other side.
After your ride, visit the Meredith Station Gift Shop where you can find fun train-related gifts, apparel, postcards and collectibles. You can even bring a picnic lunch on the train (just make sure you take your trash with you off the train!).
While we flock to Lake Winnipesaukee to enjoy the pristine waters and the warm sun, there’s nothing better than an old-fashioned train ride around the lake! Your kids will love it!
